Sharing knowledge is what got us out of the dark ages. The world is changing fast and there is so much to know. The good news is that you don’t have to know it all. Share with us and we’ll share with you.Explore the Benefits
Providing ongoing navigation for clients was something we were already good at. We felt there was a gap in the market for taking this approach and applying it to mortgages. Experience has taught us that the benefits go well beyond the debt itself. It’s not just having a destination — it’s about seeing where you’re going.
We get that finance can seem boring, but it doesn’t have to be. Everybody’s situation is different, and for us, bringing all the pieces together is like an interesting puzzle. Our mission is to put the jigsaw back together and give you a better picture than what you had before.
We know getting a mortgage can be a trial and at times feel as if you’re part of someone else’s sales target. Our vision is to break the mould of transactional advice and create a personal experience, so you’re not repeating your story to endless call centres. It’s what we would’ve wanted for ourselves.
We understand New Zealanders’ financial pain points and we know how to help. Between us we have decades of experience across mortgages, insurance, banking, financial planning and investment. The aim of Pointer is to leverage everything we know for as many people as possible.
He values that Pointer clients are our biggest advocates and referrers, as they understand independent unbiased advice. This has resulted in a large portfolio of lending which provides leverage with the banks to offer the best deal possible to the clients we care for.
Joel's expertise and experience is being used on both sides of the industry to make a difference. He is looking forward to influencing the financial advice regime with what he brings to the table. Joel is Chair of Lending on the Member Advisory Committee (MAC) at Financial Advice NZ.
To do this, he developed financial planning software that gives advisers a more comprehensive outlook on their client’s finances. Royden has been using this software in his own practice and now Pointer clients will be able to experience this personalised approach — understanding how the choices you make now can make those long term goals seem more achievable.
Royden has a Graduate Diploma in Business with an endorsement in Personal Financial Planning from Massey, and is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner, as well as an Authorised Financial Adviser.
She understands that no single approach is right for everyone and works with her clients to help them make informed decisions that work for them.
Zoe has a Master’s in Education from Auckland University, a double degree in Education and German from Canterbury University.
